Note the use of a full tile border on both patios, and the diagonal layout of the field tile. Also note the use of full tile along the front edge of each step, and the outside edge following the curvature of the steps. The layout is not only important for aesthetics but vital to achieve good continuous grout lines from one patio, up the stairs to the other patio.
The combination of wood flooring and ceramic tile is unique and requires skill and forethought. Note the basket weave of the wood flooring bordering the tile. Attention to detail is one of my specialties.
Ceramic tile is typically used in bathrooms. Note the diagonal layout of the tile on the left, the inset shelf in the center picture, and the tile surface on the sink counter top. Brass fixtures always add an elegant, finished look.
